Dongwoo not only held the chip lead through Days 2 and 3, but also ended the tournament with a resounding victory on Day 4. His perseverance and skill earned him a CAD $434,900 prize, plus a seat at the WPT World Championship at Wynn Las Vegas in December.
He also earned a permanent spot in the WPT Mike Sexton Champions Cup and a championship belt.
Challenges along the way
The road to victory was not an easy one. During the tournament, players faced a widespread power outage at the Playground Poker Club due to severe weather conditions. Despite this inconvenience, David remained calm and continued with his strategy.
